Mehak Ghai reveals her secrets for the perfect wedding look!
Your BFF’s wedding can’t be imagined without a calendar full of bridesmaid’s duties, the endless shopping checklist, choreography sessions and keeping your girl squad in check for any upcoming emotional outbursts. And while making sure your bride-to-be’s wardrobe is sorted for all her functions don’t forget to keep your OOTDs and OOTNs in-check too.
Styling the whole look right, believe it or not is the true saviour of your wedding wardrobe. It’s not just the outfit, just the accessories or just the makeup but it all of it put together correctly. Planning is crucial before the whole wedding extravaganza begins to avoid any last minute disasters. To make the process a whole lot easier, we bring to you tips from one of the most famous fashion bloggers around – Mehak Ghai. She’s always been known to keep her best fashion foot forward, when it comes to styling an outfit right, and now she’s got some style tips on how to dress up for your BFF’s wedding.
Have a look for what she’s got to say:
1.Pastels are the new black.
Mehak – “My favourite these days are pastels.”
Tip – Subtle yet stunning, pastel colors for a wedding attire are everything. With a touch of embroidery and intricate designs, pastel coloured outfits are worth opting for. Also, pastels go really well with Indian skin tone because of their tendency to gel well with warm undertones. It’s really hard to wrong with pastels.
2. Keeping it velvet for the fabrics this wedding season:
Mehak – “My go-to fabrics are velvets and zardozi.”
Tip – With winters coming up, velvets are the perfect choice of fabric for your wedding outfits. They are one of those longstanding classics which when worn right, bring out a very elegant look.
3. Less Is More:
Mehak – “Gone are the days when you would be decked up like a christmas tree. Not being a fan of accessories myself, I say you should only opt for statement earrings.”
Tip – Well, it’s true when they say less is more and more crucial to remember when the outfit you are wearing is already on the heavier side. A statement piece like an earring, mangtikka or neckpiece worn alone can bring out the whole look.
4. It’s all about the shoes too:
Mehak – “Shoes are very important. Don’t’ wear sneakers below your lehenga just because they aren’t visible.”
Tip – Although those sneakers feel oh-so-comfy and might not even be visible under your outfit, we want you to remember you are a bridesmaid. Your entire attire is equally important for the whole look of the wedding! As your day will revolve around running in those beauties for all those last minute runs you might wanna consider wearing your most comfortable pair of heels, with also taking a breather every now-and-then.
